Dr. Lauren Minter

Dept. of Critical Care

Lauren Minter, DVM, DACVECC

Dr. Lauren Minter was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, where growing up with several pets sparked a lifelong love of animals. That early connection, paired with a natural curiosity for medicine, set her on the path toward a career in veterinary medicine.

She earned both her undergraduate degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University before continuing her advanced training with a small animal rotating internship at Michigan State University. Dr. Minter then completed a three-year residency in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

Her professional interests span a wide range of critical care medicine, including respiratory disease, sepsis, trauma, endocrine emergencies, and cardiac disease. She is especially passionate about supporting pets and their families during some of their most stressful moments, combining thoughtful communication with attentive, evidence-based care.

Outside of work, Dr. Minter enjoys spending time with her two chihuahuas, getting outdoors, hiking, swimming, and making the most of time in nature.
