Dept. of Surgery

Christina De Armond, MVB (Hons), MS, DACVS-SA
Dr. Christina De Armond brings a wealth of surgical expertise and a passion for innovation to her role at ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital – Pasadena
She earned her veterinary degree from University College Dublin in 2014 and remained in Ireland to complete a year-long internship, gaining invaluable international experience.
She then returned to the U.S. for a small animal surgical internship in Arizona, followed by an intensive four-year combined surgical residency and master’s degree at the University of Florida, where she trained alongside leaders in the field of small animal surgery.
A Southern California native, Dr. De Armond is delighted to be back home, caring for pets as a board-certified small animal surgeon while also completing a minimally invasive orthopedic fellowship (a post-residency program that provides specialists with advanced, hands-on training).
While she enjoys all aspects of small animal surgery, Dr. De Armond has a particular passion for orthopedics. Her advanced training and research have focused on the development and application of custom 3D-printed surgical guides, which allow for greater precision in complex procedures such as limb deformity corrections and joint replacements. By integrating these innovative techniques, she strives to provide pets with safer surgeries, smoother recoveries, and a return to comfortable, active lives.
Dedicated not only to surgical excellence but also to compassionate care, Dr. De Armond works closely with pet owners and referring veterinarians to ensure every patient receives individualized attention and the highest standard of treatment. Her goal is always the same: to combine advanced surgical skill with empathy and communication, helping both referring veterinarians and pet-owners feel supported every step of the way.
So, if your pet is facing a surgical or orthopedic challenge, Dr. De Armond and her team at ACCESS Pasadena are ready to assist you and, if referred, collaborate with your primary veterinarian to provide advanced veterinary expertise delivered with a compassionate touch.
