Center for Advanced Veterinary Interventions (CAVI)
Introducing ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital – Pasadena’s Center for Advanced Veterinary Interventions (CAVI™) – a more advanced, less invasive way to heal pets when traditional open surgery is not necessary.
At our Center for Advanced Veterinary Interventions (CAVI™), board-certified doctors use advanced, image-guided technology – including fluoroscopy (real-time X-ray guidance), endoscopy (tiny cameras that see inside the body), ultrasound, cardiac imaging, and Computed Tomography (CT) to treat complex medical conditions with precision and care.
Instead of large incisions, many procedures are performed through natural openings or tiny, pin-sized access points. Sometimes, there’s no external incision at all.
Because these procedures are minimally invasive, pets often experience:
- Less anesthesia time
- Reduced hospital stays
- Lower complication rates
- Faster recovery
- Less post-operative discomfort
- Lower overall cost of care
In many cases, pets return home sooner – and back to their normal routines more quickly – without the stress and trauma often associated with traditional surgery.
Advanced interventional treatments is veterinary care delivered in a gentler way.
One Center. One Team. Under One Roof.
Because advanced veterinary care often benefits from more than one perspective, having cutting-edge technology, interventional expertise, and doctor collaboration together under one roof, helps refine diagnoses, reduce risks, and identify the safest – often least invasive – path forward.
This integrated, multidisciplinary center where specialists in cardiology and internal medicine work collaboratively as one coordinated team (including having access to specialists in other departments) is what makes our Center for Advanced Veterinary Interventions (CAVI™) unique.
Advanced care works best when everyone works together.
For referring veterinarians, this means:
- Peer-to-peer communication
- Shared case management
- Multiple specialty perspectives
- Clear updates and continuity of care
- A seamless referral experience
For pet owners, it means:
- Comprehensive evaluation in one location
- Coordinated diagnostics and treatment planning
- Clear, compassionate communication
- A calmer, more streamlined experience
