Center for Advanced Veterinary Interventions (CAVI)

Some medical conditions require more than traditional surgery or standard treatment options. That's why ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital – Pasadena created the Center for Advanced Veterinary Interventions (CAVI), a unique center focused on advanced, image-guided procedures designed to diagnose and treat complex conditions as non-invasively as possible.

By bringing together specialists from multiple disciplines, CAVI offers innovative treatment options for pets facing challenging medical conditions while helping reduce recovery times, surgical trauma, and treatment risks.

Contact our team at (626) 993-9600 to learn whether CAVI may be an option for your pet.

What Is CAVI?

The Center for Advanced Veterinary Interventions (CAVI) is not a single specialty service. It's a collaborative program that combines expertise from interventional radiology, interventional cardiology, interventional endoscopy, internal medicine, emergency and critical care, and other specialty departments to solve complex medical problems.

Using advanced imaging and minimally invasive techniques, our specialists can often diagnose and treat conditions through small incisions, catheters, scopes, and image-guided procedures rather than traditional open surgery.

What makes CAVI different is the team behind it. Multiple specialists work together to evaluate each case, identify the safest and most effective treatment options, and create a coordinated plan focused on achieving the best possible outcome.

  • Gastrointestinal strictures or masses

  • Portosystemic shunts
