Madeline Procopi, DVM (Surgery)

I was born and raised in New Jersey, where I graduated from Rutgers University in 2021 with a degree in animal science. From there, I headed to the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, earning my DVM in 2025. During my time at Tufts, I gained hands-on experience caring for a variety of animals through my work at the Tufts Wildlife Clinic and the Luke and Lily Lerner Spay and Neuter Clinic. Both gave me valuable opportunities to put my studies into practice and learn from the teams around me.

After veterinary school, I moved to California to complete a rotating small animal internship at VCA West Los Angeles. I’m now a surgery specialty intern at ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital located in Pasadena, continuing to build my skills and experience with the goal of pursuing a residency in small animal surgery. Outside the hospital, I enjoy getting outdoors, whether that’s a walk in the woods or some time on the beach. I’ve also recently taken up bird-watching, so I’m learning to pay a little more attention to who’s sharing the trail. When I’m not out exploring, I enjoy trying new restaurants and getting to know the area one meal at a time.
